I sprained my left ankle during one of my physical therapy sessions last weekend and it was so painful.
Using the RICE method as recommended by my nurse Danni 😁I had to.....
Rest and avoid activities that will cause pain and discomfort for the meantime. But I had to walk from time to time in going to the bathroom
Ice, applying cold pack for 15 to 20 minutes at a time. But do not put ice on bare skin (which I did one time, sorry)
Compression, Danni wrapped my ankle with an elastic bandage to control swelling. Its from my toes up to the calf and its very uncomfortable
Elevation, Danni propped my ankle with pillows so it rests above the level of my heart. I was told that gravity will help drain the excess fluids
Today, it is no longer swollen but still a bit painful. I had an online consultation with my doctor and I need to see him by Thursday. No PT sessions for now. Felt bad actually because I really want to finish the sessions as scheduled.
Thank you LORD for Your sustaining grace. This pain is nothing compared to the heart break that I have been feeling for months now.
I miss you....How I wish you are here with me...I know its an impossible thought....
I guess I just need more pain killers....
